i need to know

i didn't write this, the most important person on the planet to me wrote this, and i need to decipher it. if you guys could read and tell me what you think was on his mind while he wrote this, or anything else.. please, do so. this means everything to me. he can't tell me himself anymore.


Pull the Plug



A waste of life,
a sharpened knife,
and six or seven beers.


Hes on the run
from daytimes sun
to blacken out his fears


The thoughts he'd hide,
yield suicide,
and lull once vibrant cheers.


A dreamer dies
and here he lies.
Succumb to painful years.


Now here I go
6 feet below
Into the hole I dug.


No looking back.
The odds are stacked.
Just pull the fucking plug.

You know what's being said here. If this is as serious as it sounds, I would try to convince him to get help.

sorry, i guess i should have provided some sort of background. the person that wrote this passed away. he was sick when he wrote it and i'm just trying to understand and gain some sort of insight. means a lot to me.

oohh.. now i feel like an ass. sorry about that.

well.. what i get from it is that he feels robbed. "A waste of life", "A dreamer dies", like he knows he would have been a great person if given the chance. But then he says "the hole i dug", as if it was his fault somehow. That confuses me.

I can't pretend to have any idea what was going through his mind, but to me he just sounds frustrated, like he's too tired to be angry.

I know that didn't help much.

don't worry about it, i should have given more of a background.

and you did help. i was just trying to understand because it wasn't until recently that i came upon this. but i definitely feel the same way about the piece. it's kind of heartbreaking though.
